Education is more than just textbooks and classrooms—it’s about preparing students for real-world challenges. By delivering high-quality training directly to schools, we ensure that students are prepared to step into the workforce with confidence.

Building Career Pathways for Students
Practical, hands-on skills are crucial for students looking to enter industries such as agriculture or conservation and ecosystem management. The NT Schools Program focuses on delivering nationally accredited qualifications that give students a headstart in their careers.
INLOC’s NT Schools Program is currently conducted at Shepherdson College, Elcho Island, Maningrida College, and Jabiru Area Schoool, ensuring students in remote communities have access to quality training and career opportunities.
What Does the NT Schools Program Offer?
Our program delivers nationally accredited courses, including:
• AHC10124 Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management – An introductory qualification for students interested in environmental work, focusing on land management and conservation practices.
• AHC21024 Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management – A more advanced qualification that builds practical skills in land care, rehabilitation, and ecosystem preservation.
Hands-On Training in Remote Communities
Our training is designed to be engaging, practical, and directly relevant to the real-world work students may undertake after completing their studies. We collaborate with local groups such as Rangers and incorporate the work students do into their Learning on Country programs to ensure our training aligns with the needs of their community.
By bringing this program to schools we are helping students gain experience in:
• Land conservation and restoration – Learning about natural ecosystems and how to manage them sustainably.
• Cultural and environmental knowledge – Integrating Indigenous knowledge with modern conservation techniques.
• Practical fieldwork skills – Using tools and equipment for environmental maintenance and restoration projects.
Why Vocational Training Matters for Students
Vocational training provides students with:
• Job readiness – Practical skills that help students transition into employment more easily.
• Community impact – Supporting local conservation efforts and sustainable land management.
• Pathways to further study – Building a strong foundation for those who wish to pursue further qualifications in conservation and land management.
Supporting Educators and Schools
INLOC works closely with schools and the NT Department of Education and Training to integrate training into existing curriculums. We offer flexible delivery models to ensure students receive the best possible learning experience while balancing their school commitments.
Making a Lasting Impact
By participating in the NT Schools Program, students gain skills that benefit both their future careers and their communities. Conservation and ecosystem management are crucial skills, and our program helps equip the next generation with the knowledge and experience to contribute meaningfully.
