DAFF Field Safety Training

INLOC trainers provided Field Safety Training (FST) for eight officers of the Australian Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF). Training was conducted at Mountainview Station near Lakeland FNQ. The training consisted of four-wheel driving over difficult terrain, beach and sand driving, vehicle recovery, and tyre repair. DAFF participants were also introduced to the basics of survival which included principles of survival and survival basics; winning water; water sterilisation; improvised methods of fire starting; and improvised and celestial navigation. Medical scenarios also provided valuable opportunities to practice their first aid skills in remote settings.

It was a fantastic week of training for both instructors and participants.
