Land Management
Focusing on projects and initiatives aimed at restoring natural habitats and ecosystems
INLOC is at the forefront of ecological sustainability and restoration, championing projects that aim to rejuvenate natural habitats and ecosystems through regeneration and rehabilitation. Our expertise extends to meticulous invasive pest management and the implementation of targeted invasive species management strategies to protect native species and their habitats from invasive threats, thereby maintaining biodiversity and ecological integrity. Combining traditional knowledge with scientific research, INLOC collaborates with local communities, governments, and conservation organisations. Our initiatives range from reforestation and habitat enhancement to building ecosystem resilience. INLOC’s holistic approach integrates ecological needs with community welfare, ensuring that restoration projects are sustainable, inclusive, and beneficial for both nature and people.
Land & Sea Rangers
Empowering Land and Sea Rangers to nurture and protect their terrestrial and marine environments
INLOC specialises in empowering Land and Sea Rangers, particularly from First Nations communities, to fulfil their aspirations of nurturing and protecting their land and sea country. With a global presence, INLOC’s ranger programs vary from Indigenous Rangers in Australia protecting and conserving traditional lands, to community members in PNG receiving targeted training for local development.
Additionally, the Ranger Capacity Development Project on the Kokoda Track in PNG, exemplifies INLOC’s commitment to managing areas of environmental and cultural significance. Offering a comprehensive suite of services, INLOC is renowned for its tailored training programs, mentoring, risk management, and logistical support, ensuring rangers are well-equipped for conservation efforts.
On-water Operations
Undertaking marine operations and training, including research and conservation efforts
INLOC’s on-water operations are vital to understanding and conserving marine environments, encompassing scientific research, habitat mapping, pollution control, and species monitoring. Employing cutting-edge technology and methodologies, INLOC gathers data, assesses marine health, and implements effective conservation strategies. With a small fleet of vessels and a team of over 60 qualified divers, INLOC excels in marine conservation efforts, including a pivotal program dedicated to controlling the Crown-of-Thorns Starfish (COTS), a significant threat to coral reef health. This program involves regular monitoring and surveying of reef areas to detect outbreaks early, combined with targeted removal efforts to manage and reduce COTS populations effectively. Additionally, INLOC serves as a training provider for vessel operations and licensing.
